DSI to oppose bail for Abhisit : Democrats
The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is planning to object to a bail request by former opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva when he stands trial tomorrow on murder charges over the 2010 political rallies, Democrat Party spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said yesterday.
Chavanond said former PM's secretary general Suporn Attawong and the DSI were planning to challenge Abhisit's bail request, which he said was political harassment. "Their motive is to leave Abhisit unqualified as an MP candidate. But our party is confident of his innocence and will post bail with assets since he no longer has an MP's immunity," Chavanond said.
