DSI seeks to revoke bail of yellow shirt leaders

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on Thursday sought a court order to revoke the bail of the nine leaders indicted for creating unrest and intruding into government property during political turmoil in 2008.

The nine suspects have become leaders of the current political protests, which have led to chaos and the seizures of a number of government buildings. DSI claimed that they have breached the bail conditions.

The nine are: Pipob Thongchai, Suriyasai Katasila, Somkiat Pongpaiboon, Ratchyuth Sirayothinpakdi (also known as Amornthep Amornratananond), Anchalee Paireerak, Pichit Chaimongkol, retired Gen Pathompong Kesornsuk, Sub Lt Samdin Lertbusya, RTN and Somboon Thongburan.

Pol Col Songsak Raksaksakul, director of the DSI's Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime submitted the request to the court along with photographs, sound and video clips and transcripts.

Suwat Apaisak, the group's lawyer, filed a motion to oppose the DSI's request.
