The Chularatchamontri and the former second army region commander resign from NLA

Aziz Phitakkumpon, the Chularatchamontri, has officially tendered his resignation from the National Legislative Assembly.  He turned down the offer, saying it conflicted with his role as spiritual leader of Islamic community in Thailand. He earlier said it was against the Islamic Act to join in a political organisation.
General Thawatchai Samutsakorn on Monday resigned as the NLA, saying he lacked qualification.
He was previously a member of the Chart Pattana Party while the NLA members must not be a member of political party over the past three years. He was also a commander of the second army region commander.
