Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up 40 specialised medical teams in case protests organised by anti- and pro-government groups turn violent, its Heath Department said on Monday.

The medical teams will be assigned to the areas around the People’s Democratic Reform Committee’s rally sites at Government House and Rajdamnoen Road as well as the red shirt's Aksa Road rally site so they will be able to respond immediately should violence break out.

Since the protests started in Bangkok in November last year, 760 people have been injured. Seven of them remain hospitalised and 22 have died.
