Admiral sees songs, drama as keys to unity

The Culture Ministry has adjusted several of its planned activities to ensure they go well with the theme of reconciliation and unity. "This is what society needs now," Admiral Narong Pipattanasai said yesterday. Apparently impressed with the Culture Ministry's works, he was speaking in his capacity as National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) deputy chief for social psychology.

Among the proposed activities are mobile theatrical performances and cultural shows.

"Songs and dramas will have messages about social cohesion and something that will promote mutual love in the society," Narong said.

The Culture Ministry's permanent secretary, Preecha Gunteeya, said his ministry would also organise a video-clip contest based on the same theme. Narong said the NCPO would consider holding a greater variety of activities to deliver happiness to people across Thailand.
