Zombie apocalypse already upon us?

Re: "The secret Pentagon plan to stop the zombie apocalypse", Opinion & Features, May 17.

Of course the Pentagon's contingency plan to counter zombie takeovers is welcome and necessary.

For instance, what if a zombie national legislature were to remove financial-sector protections and then its zombie populace were to obtain sub-prime loans and mortgages that they could not repay, all resulting in a cataclysmic financial meltdown that could throw the entire world into an economic crisis for decades?

Such a thing could actually occur, but luckily the genius planners from the smartest country in the world would (probably) never let it happen.

Any society that would let it happen might lose all hope for the future, as zombie societies inevitably do.

Zombies seem such dreadful beings.
