Young lecturers should stick to the classroom

There seem to be more and more young and inexperienced university lecturers anxious to show off their knowledge in public rather than in the classroom.

Most of what these youngsters have to say comes straight from textbooks. Hence their public lecturing lacks vision and is often irrelevant.

What happens in Thailand cannot be compared to elsewhere. No country in the world has the "Thaksin problem" that we have. Therefore, it is not always wise to emulate what others had done in the past. Even Thaksin himself preaches that sometimes we must think "out of the box" to solve big problems. The problems plaguing our country at the moment are too complex and advanced for these young academics to help solve.
