I don't think it fair that anybody should question Yingluck Shinawatra over her trip with elder brother Thaksin to Singapore simply because she did not include the island-state on her travel itinerary in her original request to make the trip outside the c
First, Thaksin and Yingluck have a deep respect for Singapore’s elder statesman Lee Kuan Yew – even though they did not necessarily pay a personal visit to Lee on their latest trip.
Second, both Thaksin’s and Lee’s ancestors belonged to the same Hakka group of people who long lived in Guangdong province, China.
Third, Lee and Thaksin have mutual respect for each other. The sale of Shin Corp to the Temasek group of Singapore has proved to be a great success in the cooperation between the two countries’ leaders of that time.
Fourth, Singapore and Thailand have enjoyed a good economic relationship, and this despite dissimilarities between the fundamental and political problems of the two countries.
Hence it would be unfair to question Yingluck for making such a trip.
