Welcome to FCCT, Colonel

Re: "Accusations of international bias reveal local prejudice", Letters, June 11.

Robin Grant asks a good question: "Why, in the 21st century, is half the population still less educated?" Did he ask this question when Thaksin was in power or when the half-baked tablet scheme was introduced?

The really embarrassing questions were not asked of previous administrations. The fairytales were swallowed whole by the FCCT and still abound today.

It is good that the Foreign Correspondents Club hosted Colonel Weeraphon Sukondhapatipak, spokesman for the NCPO, yesterday. Let us hope they listened and gave him the resounding welcome that other less-deserving personalities have received.
