Washington has a lot at stake

So the US government says it is "deeply" concerned about the electoral system in Thailand?

Are they equally disturbed about the deliberate killings perpetrated by red shirts in the vicinity of the polling stations and elsewhere?

I do not doubt that the US government is deeply concerned. If Pheu Thai does not get elected, or if the elections are postponed, the chances of them sneaking in the dreadful Trans Pacific Partnership will diminish.
