Tourist industry needs better govt service
Re: "Tourists' accidents are too frequent", Letters, March 7.
The government is still dragging its feet in solving tourist-related problems that have become more and more complicated over the past few years.
For example, while Samui, Pattaya and Phuket have become destinations for upper-class tourists from Europe and the Americas, Hat Yai has tourists mostly from Malaysia and Singapore. At the same time, Chiang Mai is seeing more and more Chinese visitors coming in. Thus, each destination has developed its own unique problems for the government to solve.
If this issue is not addressed soon enough, Thailand's tourism industry will suffer immeasurably.
Hence, PM Yingluck, please do something.
