Time for Thaksin to ditch his sister

It is clear what needs to be done to get Thailand out of the mess it is in now: the ruling party must get rid of Yingluck Shinawatra.

The Democrats have made it clear that anything less than her removal from office will not do. The ruling party does not have to disband. It can win the next election. But the only way that it can do so is with a new leader. If Thaksin really is pulling the strings for the ruling party, he can continue to do so with another leader. But if he insists on having his sister in office, all that he will do is ensure his and the Pheu Thai Party's demise. So, ironically, only by electing a new leader can Pheu Thai ensure that Thaksin's influence will remain.
