The meek will not inherit democracy

"Goodwill people" ask us to follow the law, assuring us that everything will be fine. They want things nice and tidy without noise. But democracy develops step by step, and not always nicely and quietly. You have to row with the crew you've got.

Could it be that undemocratic tools have to be used to get rid of politicians in power who act undemocratically? Could it be that the only and "cleanest" way for Thailand is a reform committee and a transitional government set up with neutral help from abroad? Could such a "semi-democratic" way actually be more democratic than getting back again the same vote- buying politicians? Why dream that you can get the vote-buyers to clean up their act simply with naive appeals? Isn't such a strategy a little too timid?

Maybe you need to walk your own bumpy, noisy road to get a clean and honest democracy. Suthep has shown the direction, perhaps now it's up to you.
