The absurdity of one-man guilt

Re: "Thaksin was to blame for both coups", Letters, June 28.

Although Vint Chavala did not mention me by name, it's obvious that his letter solely blaming Thaksin for both coups was a response to a letter of mine published in another newspaper.

But my letter was not about the coups. I simply made the point that, if the problems of the rural poor had not been ignored, Thaksin never would have risen to power in the first place. As much as I dislike Thaksin, blaming all the country's problems on just one man is absurd.
