The Skype dictator's man
Re: "Democrat loss in the capital would be disastrous", Letters, February 22.
For once I agree with Robert Amsterdam. A Democrat loss in the capital would be nearly as disastrous for Thailand as the Pheu Thai win in the election.
Which faction of the UDD is Mr Amsterdam representing? Is it the official voice of the Maoist leadership that democratically threatened to send 10,000 red shirts to "monitor the election"? Perhaps it is the Thaksin-paid-for loyalists who are dissenting from that leadership.
How does Mr Amsterdam balance being a hireling of Thaksin Shinawatra and representing an organisation that purports to be against dictatorship? Does he not read the New York Times or the International Herald Tribune?
