Thaksin was accused of far worse crimes than land deal
I agree with Somsak Pola that compared with the other crimes that Thaksin committed, the land deal is frivolous.
Jack the Ripper was generally condemned but was never found guilty of anything because he was never tried.
The Constitution Court exposed more serious crimes that Thaksin committed. He allegedly changed the balance of the revenues in the satellite business. He allegedly changed the laws on foreign ownership of shares temporarily to enhance his shares' value.
I think Pola's memory of events is somewhat selective. Not all crimes by politicians are political crimes to which an amnesty could apply.
