Thai roads deadly? It's worse than you think

Re: "We must stop using Songkran as an excuse", Editorial, April 16.

Your annual editorial on road deaths/accidents, dutifully printed every Songkran, always seems to omit a salient fact: Thailand has the second-highest number of road fatalities on our planet, as measured per 100,000 of the population. This fact, seldom reported in our country, might shake Thais up. It is, of course, no surprise that the Maldives has the least.
