Teacher training needs to improve

A Suan Dusit Poll found that students need good teachers who have sufficient time and dedication.

The selection process for students applying for teacher training requires only a written examination and interview. Moreover, some educational institutes overflow with teacher-training students, thus negating their potential to produce quality teachers.

Although the five years of the teacher training curriculum helps to instil the above characteristics, there is no guarantee that they select and enrol the appropriate quantity and quality.

To improve education and meet the needs of students, we will have to improve the selection and training process for teachers.
