The Nation

Streetwise nailed corruption issue

Re: "Don't wait for politicians - the power to reform is in our hands", Opinion, December 17.

I am an addicted reader of The Nation, and especially the Opinion pages. This morning I read your column, and I just have to tell you how much I agree. You get it right on the button.

I am not a Thai citizen, but have been a frequent visitor to Thailand for many years. I feel pity for your country's struggle with bribery and corruption. Why don't people take to the streets with the only objective of putting an end to this? You have good experience of protesting against many other things. But it seems that corruption is a "holy cow" - good to have just in case you need it yourself some day.

Many thanks for your brilliant views and I will continue to read, hoping for a more aggressive approach on this issue.
