Something rotten about Yingluck's reform recipe
Suthep broke the eggs to make the omelette. But Yingluck wants to take over at the stove - without her own recipe. She doesn't understand that she and her fellow politicians created the need to crack the eggs in first place.
What they are now trying to do is hijack Suthep's idea. They are bankrupt of credibility because the idea didn't come from their own hearts. They are stubbornly blind to what is at fault with their own version of "practical democracy" - that populist politics is unsustainable and that corruption is not a lubricant but downright destructive. Yingluck's dream is for a quick and smooth pardon for hundreds of corrupt politicians and her brother on the run in Dubai. Given this, can we trust that she and Pheu Thai really understand why reform is needed?
