Revolting recipe for democracy

The Yingluck government's decision to impose a state of emergency in and around Bangkok has proved premature and unwarranted.

The Pheu Thai Party has proved to be a kitchen with too many cooks. These cooks are fighting among themselves to be top chef. And the restaurant manager is living too many thousands of kilometres away to know what is cooking here.

The appointment of Labour Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung as director of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order has been met with laughter and scorn. This chef is unpalatable to most Thai patrons.

No surprise then that more and more people are turning away from this eatery.
