Pedestrians, get angry now
Now that the gubernatorial decision has been made, it is time to "hold his feet to the fire" and restore this wonderful city to what it should be.
Be upset when you have to step over leaky bags of garbage on the sidewalks of Silom and its sois. Be upset when a rat runs across your foot as you step from a taxi on Silom. Get mad at the jack-hammered holes, broken tiles of a once-beautiful sidewalk, which makes added hardship for the blind, the elderly and the disabled. Feel irate when an errant motorcyclist makes you jump aside because he can use the sidewalk to get somewhere faster. Be upset when vendors do not follow the rules for disposing of their waste. Be tired of wading through plastic bags and trash at the end of the day.
Text your objections to those who can make a change, or e-mail the newspaper, or phone the officials' office, to draw attention to the problem. Insist on enforced rules for food vendors. Demand the return of trash and garbage containers to the streets. No longer be complacent. Make your vote really count. Use your limited energy to direct your comments to the person who can facilitate change.
