Parallel insurrections

The insurgents who attacked the Marine base in Narathiwat province last week have claimed it was a reprisal for Tak Bai, when peaceful protesters were stacked in trucks, body on body, and many died. Deputy Premier Chalerm Yoobamrung has offered amnesty to those who confess they were misled concerning the reason for the attack. One man who took part in the Marine base attack had survived Tak Bai. With the anger and guilt of survival, how could this man rest until there was justice for Tak Bai?

There was an insurgent group in 2010 that was misled about the reason for its actions. Its members thought that they were fighting for democracy rather than the wealth of their patron. Here is a perfect opportunity to get amnesty for these people by confessing that they were misled.

Could a confession concerning Tak Bai and another concerning the red-shirt rallies give amnesty to a prominent person in both incidents?
