No secrets between US and Israel

German magazine Der Spiegel is reporting that Israeli intelligence agents were listening to US Secretary of State John Kerry's telephone conversations while he was in Israel recently.

I can only imagine a conversation between officials.

US official: You were spying on us while we were in Israel.

Israeli: How do you know that?

US official: We know that because we were spying on you while you were spying on us.

Israeli: If you were spying on us first, then we had a right to spy on you second.

US official: You were spying on us first, so then we spied on you second.

Israeli: If we were spying on you first, then you would not have had enough time to spy on us second.

US official: If we were spying on you first, then you would not have had enough time to spy on us second.

Israeli: You say that you were spying us because we were spying on you, but if we were spying on you, then it was because we knew that you would be spying on us, especially if we did spy on you when we knew that you were already spying on us and would be spying on us again if we spied on you second, as you were spying on us first.

US official: You did it first!

Israeli: No, you did it first!

Angela Merkel: I have been spying on both of you - and on your mothers, too. How do you like that?
