Letters to the Editor

It's the warmongers who will chicken out

Re: "Relax, there won't be a civil war here", Letters, March 24.

Somsak Pola reassures us that no one should be too scared of a civil war since anti-government protests here are not bellicose. That is true.

So far only the pro-government red shirts have threatened to start a civil war in Thailand, while the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) demonstrators say they will disperse and go home once the armed red-shirt hardliners arrive in Bangkok.

Everything will be left for the military to handle.

When war really happens, it's the warmongers who usually run.
