History repeating

Re: "Burma's last King", XP, March 27.

In reviewing Sudha Shah's book on the last Burmese king, Manoj Tripathi observed that "Shah thinks [King] Thibaw's downfall had to do with his inability to make the right decision rather than his being a victim of circumstance. 'He leaned on the wrong people.'"

Will we one day say this of caretaker Yingluck Shinawatra?
