His idea, let him pay
Since businessman Thaksin Shinawatra is the father of the rice price-pledging scheme, the government should ask him to pay for the losses incurred during its first year - in the full amount.
Requests for compensation for subsequent years' damages are pending - until evaluations are finalised. Thaksin would gladly oblige, since the scheme originated with him. After all, Thaksin is a statesman in the eyes of many of us. He won't let us down.
