Get unruly politicians under control
Re: "Test politicians for substance abuse", Letters, November 21.
I have two comments on Vint Chavala's letter, which said "maybe this [drug testing] will stop our 'respectable' politicians behaving like unruly, rambunctious technical school kids".
First, drug and alcohol tests should be done on every MP before a parliamentary session begins, to prevent repeats of past ugly incident in which Democrats MPs hurled objects at the Parliament President, shouted obscenities at him and dragged him from the bench.
Second, not all technical school kids are "unruly" and "rambunctious". Comparing politicians to technical school kids is an insult to the kids.
