Foreign media represent the views of the West

Ref: "Foreign media pro-Thaksin?", May 30.

Robin Grant revealed proudly he is a member of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand.

Allow me to ask the FCCT this question: If your behaviour is regarded by the more educated half of a country as partial and unfair, would you still hold your heads high?

Grant claims the club provides a platform for differing political opinions. Really?

We all know that most foreign media represent the views of Western corporations and governments. And it looks like they are ganging up on Thailand in its most fragile situation. We also know that the FCCT often attempts to "create news" to embarrass Thailand - by inviting controversial people to give Thailand a bad name.

The best example is Jakrapob Penkair, who ran his big mouth at the FCCT with the egging-on of some its members. Now he may never have a chance to come back again.

The latest case is Chaturon Chaisaeng's arrest while giving a speech at the FCCT to flaunt his democratic stance against the coup.

The FCCT is in a steep decline, and should undergo reform.
