Enough of America's double standards

Re: "Thailand should condemn US authorities' brutality", Letters, August 22.

For once, Somsak Pola has written something sensible that I can agree with. Thailand should state its case that we do not tolerate violence against peaceful demonstrations. General Prayuth Chan-ocha would do well to remind the US government not to apply a double standard to its friends abroad while ignoring what it's doing to its own people at home. While we might have a military-led government for the time being, at least Thailand is now spared of the ugly disturbances that are sure to spread in the US.
