Dems could run in poll and still play key role in reform

With all this talk of "Democrats afraid to compete in elections", let's suppose we go ahead on July 20 with no boycott. In similar circumstances in 2007 the two main parties polled roughly equally on a national (party-list) basis. This time around, it's quite possible the Democrats will trump Pheu Thai, even if they lose the MP count.

Would this then give them the privilege to form a "minority" coalition government and if so would the red shirts accept it? From that position they would get to set the reform agenda. Of course the other side would cry foul, saying it's not true democracy, and take to the streets.
