Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra probably is not aware of it, but she is stoking the fires for civil war. Her ad hominem speeches on television and constant accusations of unfairness by the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Constitutional Cou

Further, her predictable tendency to always deny responsibility for ill-conceived policies, like the emergency decree, rice-pledging scheme, school tablet programme, amnesty for her brother, dissolving Parliament and going through with a meaningless new election (and more) is alarming. It would also be a relief if she ceased her platitudes about the need for all Thais to get along. The simple truth is that Thais won’t get along until she resigns and someone far wiser and less controversial replaces her.
King Solomon once noted that “for lack of guidance a nation can fall”. There is no question that there is absolutely no genuine political leadership in Thailand now. The result will almost certainly be a collapse for Thailand if things don’t change, and quickly.
