Cue Frank Shinawatra

Re: "Desperate words from a Dubai desperado", Letters, April 23.

Songdej Praditsmanont suggests that the "man in Dubai" should stop singing "My Way" and switch to "Desperado" ("why don't you come to your senses").

I think "My Way" suits Thaksin just fine: "And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain", and "Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew, when I bit it off more than I could chew."

Incidentally, I'm surprised that Khun Songdej is familiar with the song "Desperado" by the Eagles. I imagine him as the kind of man who loves Thai classical music and clean jokes, has a kind heart, always picks up baby birds and puts them back in their nest, and thinks that Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young is a law firm.
