Candidates offer pie in the sky
Re: "News on Bangkok poll tracker", January 23.
Nikita Khrushchev said politicians are the same all over. They promise to build bridges even when there are no rivers.
A two-day-fresh politician promised 4,900 toilets at bus stops (smelly Bangkok), no floods (high hopes), cheap public transportation (tell that to the BTS), small incinerators everywhere to burn garbage (my poor lungs) and security cameras everywhere to make Bangkok free from theft (tell that to the mountain). His opposition has a bigger heart in promising a monorail, tunnel and a bridge at Kiakkai (even higher hopes).
What a choice!
