Calls for segregation a low point for 'divide and rule' govt

Re: We favour a democratic Lanna republic, Chiang Mai group says, Politics, March 2, 2014.

A sensible government in any normal democracy would try its utmost to protect the country's sovereignty.

But in Thailand, it seems the Pheu Thai-led government is allowing segregation by its red-shirt supporters.

This is proof that a majority of Thai politicians are provincial in their philosophy and capability: they are suitable only at administrating in a provincial level of politics - not the national.

It also shows Thaksin is well versed only in the "divide and rule" tactics - not to "unite and lead".
