Songdej Praditsmanont failed to mention that the October 2013 amnesty bill applied not just to Thaksin but also to everyone who took part in the massacre of the red shirts under Abhisit’s government.
What if this government (should it ride out the storm) tried to put a stop to the problem of slash-and-burn clearance in Chiang Mai? Would the PDRC raise hell then, too, because Thaksin and his clan own homes there and would benefit from it?
I think the political equation is too complicated to solve if we include the “Thaksin’s effect”. To simplify things, let’s assume there is no Thaksin and get on with our business.
