Arrest Thaksin too

Re: "OK, Thawil, your first task back at the NSC: arrest Suthep", Letters, March 10.

I have no problem with Somsak Pola's recommendation that when Yingluck reinstates Thawil as secretary general of the National Security Council, she tell him to arrest Suthep Thaugsuban, along with giving Thawil command of the police, etc, needed to do the job, and fires him after a month if he fails to perform.

By the same token, I assume that Somsak will back me in getting Yingluck to order her Foreign Minister Kasit to cancel the fugitive Thaksin's passport and ask Dubai to extradite him to serve his sentence. Since the good minister maintains that a passport is nothing more than an identity card, surely Thaksin can use his Thai national identity card when travelling in lieu of his passport. Of course, if the foreign minister fails to do this within a month, Yingluck should fire him forthwith.

No double standards, as the red shirts are rightfully fond of saying.
