Ample data to |verify the globe is warming up

Ref: "Don't base policy on flawed climate studies", Letters, yesterday.

In reply to Mr Turk's letter, anyone interested in this topic should check out one of the very best scientific sites for objective data, the US' National Climate Data Centre at ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/2012/9. One set of worldwide data from September 12 shows roughly 60 sectors with record heat, and zero sectors for record cold. That's just the tiniest tip of the iceberg of real science studies on this topic showing that the earth is warming and seas are rising - much of it due to people's overuse of fossil fuels.

Here's another fact that global warming sceptics won't want to acknowledge - Arctic sea ice extent in September 2012 was 48.7 per cent below the 1979-2000 average - the smallest sea ice cover on record.
