Letters to the Editor

Alcohol and trains don't mix, as we've noted

Aside from the family and friends of the girl who was raped and murdered on a train, no one has more right to be angry than me.

For years I've been writing letters to the English language press complaining about the drunk, boorish behaviour I witnessed during overnight train rides and insisting that alcohol be banned on the trains.

Most people ignored or ridiculed me. One even told me I should leave the country.

So to all of you hypocrites who are complaining now, where were you when I needed you at a time when maybe we could have done something together to prevent this tragedy?
