A scheme to enable massive corruption
Re: "Korn questions Bt2-trillion loan bill", Business, March 22.
I agree with Democrat Party deputy leader Korn Chatikavanij that the government's proposed B2-trillion infrastructure-borrowing bill lacks transparency and will cause the country's next generation of taxpayers a lot of hardship.
Korn, a former finance minister, also suggested that the legislation should go through normal procedures for budget allocation, as a fiscal expenditure bill, since the financial status of the country is sound.
My opinion is that this government, in its effort to push through this gigantic bill, seeks to spend a lot of Thailand's future money in a way that is most convenient for corruption among politicians and officials only.
Hence, there is no explanation from the government except lame excuses.
