Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy visit famous Hua Hin temple

[TENNIS] World No 1 Caroline Wozniacki and golf star sweetheart Rory McIlroy took a sightseeing at the famous Huay Mongkol Temple in Hua Hin yesterday.
The Dane, who 12 months ago made a visit to this sanctuary place when she played a friendly with Kim Clijsters, and the world No 3 Northern Irish received sacred Buddha amulet from the abbot and then put them around their necks right away.
Woznacki was also blessed by the abbot Phra Ajarn Phairot Papatsaro to have a good luck for the Australian Open , the year’s opening Major which starts in Melbourne on January 16.
The two sports icons also took part in some local spiritual activities including paying respect to the famous gigantic Luang Phu Thuad statue and attached golden leaves to another sacred item. Both also proceeded under an elephant statute, a rite believed to bring luck for performers.
Earlier, the Dane along with world No 3 Victoria Azarenka from Belarus and American John Isner, and his girlfriend Madison Mckinley took part in the planting ceremony at Ban Nong Hieng which is His Majesty the King’s Development Project.
The three tennis stars helped grow teak sprout trees. More than hundred school students and local people were engaged in the activity which was aimed to grow some 1,100 teak trees.
In the evening, Wozniacki and her boyfriend as well as Azarenka had Energizing Spa at the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. The two WTA players as well as Isner and Paradorn Srichaphan will play charity event on January 1 to raise funds for flood relief.
