Coach 'Zico' signs a one-year contract extension

National football team coach Kiatisak Senamuang agreed to sign a one-year contract extension with the Football Association of Thailand on Tuesday.



After prostracted talks over the new deal, the 43-year-old coach eventually agreed to put pen to paper on the deadline day set by Thai FA boss Pol Gen Somyot Poompanmuang to extend his stay in the national post he has held since 2013.  

Kiatisak's immediate task is to prepare his side for this month's two World Cup qualifiers, a home fixture against Saudi Arabia on March 23 befoer a trip to regional powerhouse Japan five days later.
