Three southern mail exchange centres still blocked

The election in 14 southern provinces on Sunday is looking increasingly untenable as three postal exchanges covering the area are unable to transport ballot boxes and ballots to polling stations.
Yesterday, supporters of the reform-before-election People’s Democratic Reform Committee were still rallying outside the three exchanges to prevent officials from taking out ballots and boxes for distribution.
Voting in these 14 southern provinces might have to be cancelled if preparations cannot be completed on time.
However, the government might dispatch helicopters to airlift the ballots and boxes from the exchanges located in Songkhla’s Hat Yai district, Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Thungsong district and Chumphon’s Muang district.
