Some of our politicians need to accept electoral defeats

Coup supporters slam the US and the EU for "meddling" in our internal affairs, and for not understanding the "complexities" and "culture" of Thai politics. They insist that a coup is essential for democracy, more essential than an election.
The junta is like a bank robber who donated the loot to help raise orphans who killed their parents. Some may sympathise with him and praised him. Some are going to reiterate that bank robbery is a crime, no justification, full stop (or “period” for you Americans).
If you side with the robber, you send a message that it’s okay to commit a crime for good causes. If you maintain that a crime is always a crime no matter what, you are on the same page as the US and the EU.
To me, as long as our politicians can’t accept defeat, the country will always be in the cycle of coup, new and improved constitution, election, coup, like it has always been.
