Prayuth Chan-Ocha’s wiping the slate clean has led us to a new scenario of mellowing but uncertain frontier. He has brought us to the future with promise.
He waited patiently enough to strike after Suthep did his homework.
He did it tastefully and effectively by detaining those who matter. It was so faultless, indicating that it was well-planned and there were enough drills practised by his subordinates. The surprise was its secrecy.
He did it with the heart of a gentleman. Shock treatments meted out with short lives.
He listened to the outcries domestically and internationally. His curfew has been treated with kid gloves and lifted in areas where tourism was threatened.
He used a strong message against those troublemakers to gain immediate effects like calming warlike talk and threats of violence.
He lauded China as our immediate friend to counteract all those holier-than-thou Westerners like the US, EU and loudmouth Australians with their boring and unchallengeable mantras of democracy as voting.
I salute him and will support his monument of humbleness when he leaves immediately after his job, in the eyes of the public, has been completed and his service no longer required.
