All four adult members of my family who live in the North had to skip voting in Sunday's Senate election for lack of choice. It looked like all the candidates were connected to the ruling Pheu Thai Party, which is not to our liking.
I suspect that other would-be candidates were too scared to sign up, since the red shirts in this city are vicious.
Second, none of the actual candidates was keen on revealing his or her ideologies and policies for us to consider.
Hence, all members of my family, small as it is, have vowed not to cast our votes until we see an all-encompassing process of political reform in this country.
