Foreign media understand Thai crisis better than Thais

We like to complain that Western media do not understand Thai culture and politics.
We get furious when they refer to this government as “democratically elected”. We scream when they condemn Suthep’s brigade for blockading vote stations and harassing voters. We say voting was undemocratic and unconstitutional. When Pheu Thai retained a majority in parliament, we said it was “parliamentary dictatorship”.
By contrast, I think foreign media understand us better than we do ourselves. They do their research before writing. I recommend readers Google the National Geographic article “Can Thailand Avoid Another Coup?” by Lewis M Simons. It explains everything.
