The Thailand Research Fund and Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University are teaming up to drive research efforts to help local communities.
They recently signed co-operation agreement, with one of the main goals the development of communities via a community-based research approach.
Under the three-year agreement, the TRF will set up a team of “coaches” for the university’s members in order to show them how to efficiently conduct research.
The TRF will also provide financial support for five of the university’s research projects each year.
The university has agreed to produce researchers for work on its campus and in the community.
Asst Prof Dr Banchorn Kaewsong of the TRF said surveys would be conducted to explore the social ecology of local communities and allow researches to work with locals in identifying the right research questions.
“We will also conduct training on how to write research proposals for academics and local people,” he said.
