ASTV Manager Group announced that it would stop printing its ASTV Manger Weekly newsmagazine for a month so that the National Press Council of Thailand would not be under pressure from the junta.
ASTV Manager Group announced that its latest edition of its weekly magazine had not violated the media ethics but since the National Council for Peace and Order ordered the NCPT to investigate it, it decided to stop printing for a month.
The NCPO has issued an announcement, alleging ASTV Manger Weekly with publishing distorted information to discredit the junta.
ASTV Manager Group said it wanted the NCPT to remain an independent media organisation instead of having to shoulder burden and pressure from the junta so it decided to take the action to suspend the weekly magazine’s printing.
