K-water CEO meets Sihasak for update on water project Korea Water Resources Corp (K-water) CEO Choi Gye-woon yesterday met the permanent secretary for foreign affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, during his visit to South Korea.
Sihasak explained the latest position on the Kingdom’s under-review water-management scheme, while K-water’s chief affirmed the company’s continued interest in participating.
Sihasak said he had informed Choi that the National Council for Peace and Order’s review of the scheme should be completed by October, as it was one of the country’s most urgent public mega-projects and was crucial to private-sector confidence.
Since it requires a huge budget, the scheme needs to be considered carefully, he added.
The official said he had also affirmed that Thailand was open to receiving more information from K-water.
A K-water source said the Korean company understood Thailand’s need to review the scheme, was still hopeful to be part of it, and affirmed that K-water was a credible organisation “like PTT and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand”.
